The building located at 117 dobbin street brooklyn ny 11222, is a former
factory built in 1947 which has served many different purposes over the
years. One of our neighbors said that in the1980s it was a place where
jewelry was fabricated behind bricked-up windows to avoid break-ins.
Times change, and with all the artists moving to the now-thriving
neighborhoods of Williamsburg and Greenpoint the building was
recently converted to artist studios and lofts. Wedged between a small
but still intact manufacturing district to the south and a residential
neighborhood to the north, Dobbin Studios is in a unique neighborhood that
has a small town feel to it but is only one subway stop from Manhattan.
